Are you a registered nurse? Do you have the experience and the skills that are sought of by the different recruitment companies in the health care industries?

If your answer is yes to these two questions and you are a travel enthusiast, then being a traveling nurse is for you. Before we discuss the top 10 places hiring traveling nurses, let us first find out what traveling nurses are and the benefits and compensation traveling nurses enjoy.

What exactly are Traveling Nurses?

Traveling nurses are registered nurses who literally travel for short-term assignments. Travel nurses are actually employed in a nursing agency. These agencies supplement the nursing staff of a clinic or hospital in another place by sending experienced and quality nurses to work there for a period of time.

The responsibilities of a travel nurse are the same with those of a regular nurse. Travel nurses still assist the physician in the treatment of patients. They also provide emotional support to their clients and the family as well as completing health history records. More so, assisting in the process of doing diagnostic exams and administering of medications are also part of the job description of a traveling nurse.

What are the Benefits of a Traveling Nurse?

First and foremost, traveling nurses are given the opportunity to expand their experience and improve their skills through being employed as a travel nurse. Traveling to other places, seeing the culture, tradition and wealth of a different place is in itself rewarding. Adding to these is the decent pay rate of averagely $ 25-35 per hour.

More so, medical, dental and free basic life insurance is provided for travel nurses as well as free housing and tax-free travel reimbursement. Most importantly, most employers offer free continuing education for their employees as well as other forms of support from travel-nurse agencies.

Your Location of Choice

Now that we have knowledge on what travel nurses do and what they enjoy. It would be a relief also to know that most of the time, traveling nurses can pick their place of assignment. Thus, in this next section, you will find the top 10 places hiring traveling nurses.

1.	Northern California. This area has a number of hospitals concentrated on a particular area that offer traveling nurses good pay within the comforts of the city. Northern California is definitely a favorite destination for traveling nurses.

2.	Alaska. For those who prefer to work in a rural rather than an urban setting, the state of Alaska would be your top pick. Enjoying the company of just a small group of co-workers and the bliss of nature and outdoor activities, traveling nurses will enjoy the experience while earning superior pay in this state where nurses are in demand.

3.	Nevada. Nevada, the “Biggest Little City” offers you the experience of a lifetime. You will enjoy the four seasons in most of this state as a balanced life that you would surely treasure.

4.	North Carolina. Speaking of a well-balanced life, North Carolina gives its citizens an amazing outdoor experience. It also boasts of advance health care services and research at the Duke University Medical Center (DUMC) and the Triangle Park.

5-6. New York and Las Vegas. These two offer an almost the same big-city experience for traveling nurses. Although the cost of living in these areas is relatively higher than others, the experience and activities that one can enjoy is limitless.

7-10. Tennessee, Nebraska, Texas and Missouri. These four places offer traveling nurses the lowest cost of living. So for those who would like to save a lot of money, one of these places may be the place for you where you can save from lower prices of transportation, housing and even groceries.

Canada’s tourism industry is growing rapidly, both from domestic and international tourists drawn to the natural beauty and vibrant cultural life that Canada has to offer. From the thriving arts scenes in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver, to the wide open prairies and lush wooded areas, Canada has something for everyone. But what Canada needs is a labor force up to the increased work load. From the family-run bed and breakfast hotels needing someone to turn down the beds to city bus tours needing guides and drivers, if you are looking to work in Canadian tourism, there is a wide variety of opportunities available. For workers coming from outside Canada, there are a few special considerations to keep in mind to help you move smoothly into a rewarding position in Canadian tourism.

Canadian Work Permits

The process for a getting a Canadian work permit varies depending on your current location, whether you or a close relative currently has a work permit and several other factors. Quebec, the largely French-speaking province of Canada, has a separate process from other provinces, and Alberta has a special guide for temporary workers coming from abroad. Citizenship and Immigration Canada, the government department in charge of approving visas and work permits, will assist you with determining what process you need to go through to get a work permit. The Citizenship and Immigration Canada website is an essential resource for anyone looking to come to Canada. The website has informational videos on coming to Canada to work, forms and guides are available for download, and you can check the status of your application online. If you are currently in Canada, you can apply for your work permit online.

Use Your Skills

While Canada can issue a certain number of work visas for general labor in tourism, those with special skills will have an advantage. If you have culinary experience, your options for coming to Canada include migrating as a skilled worker. Chefs and cooks are needed in restaurants, hotels, cafes, and many businesses frequented by tourists. If you like positions with high public interaction, creating culinary demonstrations will make your work a tourist attraction in itself. The ability to create edible works of art with spectacular displays including flambe, juggling ingredients and other feats of cooking derring-do can broaden your employment opportunities in Canada.

Work on English, French, and a third language. English and French are Canada’s has two official languages, so those are essential for interacting with domestic tourists. Knowing additional languages will give you a competitive advantage in the tourism industry. Languages that may be helpful with international tourists include Arabic, Chinese, Japanese or Spanish.

If you are considering coming to Canada to work in tourism but have no current offers, consider getting some experience in an international hotel chain. Even if the position isn’t quite what you want, you may be able to transfer to a branch in Canada. Your prior experience with the company serves as its own recommendation, and will ease your transition when you do get an offer for a transfer to Canada.

Working abroad can be a greatly rewarding experience, but it also has its risks. Especially for the tourism industry, where you will be encountering many people who are traveling, caution is essential. Stick to official agencies to process your documents, and research companies that offer you employment. Make sure that you have contact information for your country’s embassy in Canada. With some caution and diligence, you can have the experience of a lifetime working in Canadian tourism.

Byron Bay in Australia is one of the country’s top tourist destinations. People from all over the world come to see the beautiful sights and places that the beautiful Byron Bay has to offer. Whether you are looking for fun in the sky, surf, or on the trails, you can find it there. There is another reason why Byron Bay is popular with travelers, most especially backpackers, and that is because there are lots of travel jobs.

And because of the bustling tourism, Byron Bay also has a lot of openings for travel jobs that are perfect for backpackers who want to earn a bit of money for their next journey. If you are wondering just what kind of travel jobs there are at Byron Bay here are a few examples:
<img class="aligncenter" title="dream travel jobs - byron bay" src="http://www.dreamtraveljobs.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/dream_travel_jobs_in_byron_bay.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" / class="aligncenter">

Pedicab Driver

If you want to earn a bit of money while also exploring the local sights then you can try your hand, or more appropriately your feet, at driving a pedicab. You rent a pedicab for a duration of time and you get to keep all of your earnings. So if you work hard and pick up as many passengers as you can, you stand to double, or maybe even triple your initial investment.

Farm Workers

There are lots of farms that dot the Australian countryside, and they are always looking for a couple of able-bodied individuals to help with a couple of odd jobs. If you are not afraid of getting down and dirty (literally) then you can work for a couple of months as a farmhand. If you want to experience how it feels like to work in an Australian farm you should ask around in the local town hall.

Gardening and Yard work

Most of the people in Byron Bay are too busy to care for their gardens and lawns so these are perfect short term jobs for adventure travelers. You need to know how to weed and care for plants and flowers, and maybe do some slight landscaping. Some of the Byron Bay hotels also hire this kind of work.

Nanny/Babysitting

If you know how to properly take care of children then you would definitely find a lot of work as a part-time nanny or babysitter. If you are a fun guy/gal that can keep children happy and preoccupied, lots of local couples would certainly appreciate your help.

Food Servers/Bartenders

There are literally hundreds of bars and restaurants that line the expanse of Byron Bay, and almost all of them are understaffed and are looking for a couple of people to help them get through the lunch and dinner rush. This kind of work also pays the highest because you can keep the tips that the customers give you, which will definitely help in resupplying your travel funds.

Backpacking through Australia requires quite a tidy sum of money, even if you do try your best to be frugal. Fortunately, if you find yourself stranded in Byron Bay there are lots of different jobs that you can apply for so that you can replenish your travel funds and go on to your next destination, that is if you even want to leave Byron Bay in the first place.

Located at the eastern side of Java along the southern part of equator is Bali, an island in the Indonesian archipelago, is famous for its pristine nature and rich culture. This is the reason why it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world flocked by thousands of visitors each year who take advantage of year-round good value Bali holiday packages . In the last five years, the economy of Bali has boomed due to the rapid growth of the tourism industry which also greatly influenced the lifestyle and culture of Balinese people.

Throughout the year, Bali has a warm and tropical climate that varies between 20 degrees to 33 degrees on the Celsius scale. People come over to the sensational island of Bali to get an adrenaline boost, indulge into its adventures, luxuries or to spend their honeymoon. In 2010, Bali received the Best Island award from the New York based travel magazine Travel + Leisure.

Job Sector Realities

A lot of people want to work in Bali among its fantasies but finding different jobs in Bali might not be an easy task as the economy of Bali mainly depends upon the hospitality industry. You might find difficulty in finding a variety of jobs in Bali though in legal terms you will not face any problem finding jobs. So usually the jobs on offer are the ones that are associated with the tourism sector. The hotel employers show keen interest in hiring qualified staffs from different parts of the world. Tourists speaking different languages can get jobs in the hotels of Bali so that they can interact in their native language with other tourists coming in from their country. Another promising job sector in Bali is the expat market that is growing at a rapid pace but the competition is very high among tourists and the Balinese alike.

If you have TESOL or TEFL certification then you may get English teaching jobs in the island of Bali. Another job that is prospective for workers is building and construction job. Other jobs sectors include sales and marketing, healthcare, human resources, administrative jobs, etc.

Finding a job in Bali is not really easy as the underemployment rate is high. If you are planning to move to Bali for working you must secure a job before you land there. If you think that you can find a job after you reach there then you may actually end up eating up your savings. Even if jobs are available in Bali, you cannot get to it unless you have contact with the local people out there. So you must make friends with the local Balinese people as soon as you drop in there. There are some companies who do not wish to employ foreigners as they have to provide visa for them which cost them a lot of money.

Starting a Travel Business in Bali?

There are many tourists who start their own business in Bali if they fail to find a job for them. This doesn’t work very well if you don’t have any business skills – especially in a foreign place. It is highly advisable to have your job secured before you fly to Bali.

Your employer should arrange for your visa if you are working for someone else; you should never arrive in Bali with the wrong visa. If you have a business, social or a retirement visa you cannot work in Bali. You need to have the legal visa meant for tourist workers if you want to work in Bali. You should not accept the work from a company, no matter lucrative it is, if the employer does not provide for your visa.

Having said that, making friends with a local is really helpful to deal with the bureaucracy that exists in Bali. Good luck – it’s worth it!
